Second Life’s newest designer, Mami Jewell, will be opening her new clothing store, Azul

Mami Jewell has completed a mentorship program with well known designer edo Tone, creator of Styles of edo. (http://slurl.com/secondlife/Tyche/157/83/55).
Mami is already well-known for her designer dresses – most notably the pageant gown worn by Mimmi Boa, winner of the Miss Virtual World 2009 competition.

(Simple satin gown with 4 part skirt and gloves regularly priced at $500 Linden.)
Her new clothing line includes many elegant gowns and low-cut dresses ranging in price from about $400 – $900 Linden.
(One of Mami’s more casual pieces – dark fur coat paired with dark pants and shirt sells for $480 Linden.)
There are also some casual pieces including a fur coat and pants ensemble.

According to one Second Life resident, Eternity Ohl, “She (Mami Jewell) has captured an elegant look I haven’t seen anywhere in Second Life.” Eternity wears Milonga in Garnet priced at $850 Linden.
The dress is accented with a halter neckline and a long flowing skirt embossed with gold detailing.

I’m sure this store will flourish but how many more stores selling ball gowns and pant sets does sl actually need? I dont see anything here that differs greatly from the well established houses such as Blaze or Simone.

Well Mairead, thats the thing about business. Competition is required to keep the best and strongest around. If no competition service and product quality drop off. Thats why monopolies are frowned upon in the real world.
Best that people stay on their toes then get fat and content in their supremacy.

I disagree. I think we definitely have competitition in the marketplace for a reason but you have to actually have a competitive edge. When this is the same stuff it has to be either a: cheaper or b: better.

I heard that the top 5 finalists will all become Bliss Couture models, and be hired for various modeling work within the company. In addition to the prizes for the top 10, the top 5 girls will also each receive a $5000L gift card to Bliss Couture.How cool is that?!

Wow, such Beautiful textures made into traditional kimono’s, long and short male and female.
At the main store you can find beautiful fans and parasols as well as many other accessories.

I heard that Mami has already made a wonderful name for herself within the fashion community due to her classy, beautifully detailed, and creatively designed dresses that have a flair which sets her apart from other SL designers. Mami Jewell is the awesome designer who made the gorgeous dress that this year’s winning Miss Virtual World 2009 (Mimmi Boa) wore.

I heard that there were special offers for visitors who attend the Grand Opening, I am pretty bummed out that i missed this! Would have loved to get my hand some of these pieces..

I think both Mami and edo feel it is time for Mami to go independent again with her own clothing line and that her time with Styles of edo has been a learning experience that each will cherish and are glad to have shared together.

I love Mami’s work. They are so elegant and definitely always have a classy touch! Would love to see more of her designs, her dresses are just fantastic!
