The grand opening of the Virtual Job Candy office starts during the Virtual Worlds Expo in Los Angeles and will feature real-world and in-world promotions for attendees. Virtual Job Candy co-founder, Brian Regan (Printer Brian Dowd in Second Life), will be in booth #112 at the Expo and co-founder Lisa Peyton (Avarie Parker in Second Life) will be in-world to meet with open-house attendees and show them around the inviting ginger-bread inspired office, which includes an interview room atop a tall beanstalk. In-world visitors will also be treated to virtual swag and special discounts.

As part of the open-house promotions, job-seekers can enter to win a Wii and employers can get six months of job listings for the price of three through September 8. These offers will be available on site at the Expo, at the Virtual Job Candy office in Second Life, and at VirtualJobCandy.com.

Launched in June, 2008, Virtual Job Candy allows job-seekers to register and upload their resumes and qualifications for free. They can view jobs posted by employers from around the world for free and get training to prepare for virtual world interviews. Employers can post job openings for a fraction of what they’d pay for large, non-specific job boards. They can research candidates with targeted expertise in virtual worlds, 3D design, animation and related business careers.
