Final Chance To Nominate SLentrepreneur of the Year 2009
December 1st, 2009 | Published in SLENTRE.COM Magazine: Notes From The Editor | 4 Comments
Dear Readers,
Once again, this year has been a whirlwind of activity. As 2009 quickly draws to a close, it’s time to yet again solicit nominations and votes from Second Life residents to help us determine our SLentrepreneur of the Year. Last year’s gracious winner, Mimi Juneau, has continued to expand her business and demonstrate the qualities of a true SLentrepreneur. All of last year’s nominees – as chosen by SL residents – can be seen at this article.
The nomination process is simple. Just email me – avarie.parker@gmail.com – with your nomination. Include the nominee’s SL name, business title and why you think she should be nominated. All named residents will be considered in this year’s contest to be decided by your votes.
The year has been a good one for SLENTRE. I’ve been fortunate enough to work with several new sponsors – including Amazon, Moolto.com and SLBiz2Life – and a bevy of talented writers. I’ve also acquired many new skills that I’ve successfully applied to my new real life business, Peyton Media. Unfortunately starting up my own social media company has made it extremely difficult to publish as often as I’d like. I want to thank my loyal readers for continuing to enjoy our quality content – even if it was published a bit less frequently.
I wish all Second Life residents a joyous and abundant holiday season and I’ll announce the SLentrepreneur of the Year Award 2009 nominees in January 2010.
Most Sincerely,
Avarie Parker

I would like to nominate Marjorie Dibou of Sugar Hill Island and Black Soul Rhythms Radio – she has really demonstrated an entreprenural spirit in the couple of years I have known her hosting many events both musical and cultural on her Sugar Hill Island.

I would like to nominate Patty Cortes, of Glance International Agency. She has created one of the most respected fashion agencies in SL, which continues to flourish. Patty is well respected by designers, businesspeople, and models alike. She is also very active in SL charitable events.

I second Patty Cortes, CEO and founder of GLANCE International Agency. She is building an incredible company and brand and doing it with the highest standards of professionalism and good will. She does support many RL charitable organizations thru the agency, and she does it with a smile on her face and a kind generous spirit towards her employees, staff, business partners and clients. Patty combines respect for individuals with good business, and global responsibility. She’s an ideal candidate for SLentrepreneur of the Year.
