Nonprofit ventures are not only alive and well in Second Life; they’re thriving. The Grand Opening of Aloft Nonprofit Commons takes place Wednesday, May 28th, and this will mark the second island launched by TechSoup.org, an organization exclusively serving nonprofits and NGOs.
All are invited to attend this mixed reality event. It will be broadcast live from the NetSquared Conference in San Jose, CA from 10am – 12n PST/SLT, with content streamed simultaneously between worlds. There will be panel discussions, networking events, and live performances by RL and SL artists. SL entertainment will carry on throughout the evening. Other activities will include horsedrawn carriage island tours, magic carpet rides, sky diving, and underwater soccer, just to name a few. The event is hosted by TechSoup, Nonprofit Commons, and NetSquared.
